Miss Walking Street 2010

Jomtien based villa rental company Thailand Holiday Homes, has recently announced its plans to host the first ever “Miss Walking Street” beauty contest, on the evening of Valentines Day, the 14th of February 2010.
The contest will feature 40 of the most attractive girls, from the largest bars on Walking Street. With three rounds of knockouts, judged by a panel of local businessmen and officials, the contestants will be whittled down to the top 3.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the PDA Aids Awareness and Prevention project, and a charity auction will be held at the end of the night, to auction off prizes donated by local sponsors, including a weeks vacation on Phuket, and a stay in a luxury villa in Pattaya. The auction will be professionally run by local auctioneer John Collingbourne, in an attempt to raise as much money as possible for the chosen charity.

The event will take place at the Utopia Lounge, which is located on Soho square, and will start at 8pm, and run until late. Entertainment will include not only the beauty show, but the resident Utopia Lounge band, fire eaters, jugglers and other street entertainers.

Thailand Holiday Homes have stated that so far the sponsors have been keen to get involved, and the level of generosity which has been encountered has far outstretched expectations. If the event works well, it is intended that it becomes an annual event on the Pattaya calendar.
