Lamai Beach Koh Samui

Every beach in Koh Samui has its own unique feel and style; you can find a beach to suit all here. One of the top favorites is Lamai beach on the south of the island. Lamai itself is the second largest town on the island and has a more relaxed feel to it in comparison to Chaweng and its hustle and bustle.

The town center is off the main ring road, you turn left onto the Lamai Beach Road at the large MacDonald’s sign. This will take you along the Beach road that is filled with bars, shops and restaurants. Just behind the shops and hotels on the left is Lamai beach. The beach is a crescent shape and is around 1.5 kilometers in length.

The sand is slightly coarser than Chaweng, but the laid back ambience of the beach is a definite plus. The beach is also a bit narrower than Chaweng, but there is still plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the warm tropical sun on the golden sands! Another bonus to this beautiful stretch of sand is that the water gets deep quite quickly making it perfect for water sports. You will not find a better location to try a Jet Ski on the island!

The amenities on the beach are plentiful with lots of small beach bars as well as large resorts to choose from. Beach sellers frequently walk along the beach selling everything from tasty barbequed corn on the cob to colorful sarongs to show off. Lamai beach is a great choice for everyone and you will never be short of activities on a day out there.
