June Flower Fair at Pattaya Floating Market
Пятница, 25 Июнь, 2010
Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekasing, Director of Pattaya Tourism Authority Khun Niti Kongkru announced a ‘Flower Fair’ festival organised by the Pattaya Floating Market.
The hot season has turned to the rainy season, and this is typically a slow time for tourism in Pattaya. The political turmoil this year has not helped, and Pattaya Floating Market is looking for various ways to boost the number of visitors by hosting this Flower Fair.
The floating market on Sukhumvit Road, south of the city, is a destination point for both Thai and foreign tourists, and they can visit free of charge to browse the shops, or buy food and merchandise from the many boat vendors. It is usually a bustling place full of tour buses, and the merchants would like to see it return to its usual vitality.
Pattaya Floating Market believes in the importance of conserving Thai culture and a simple traditional Thai lifestyle, so the big fair will be held on the 27th of June with the slogan “Return to beauty and simplicity with traditional Thai flowers, food and culture from every region.”
