This is a lovely house situated in a wonderful position right on the coast with breathtaking views of the sea from its balconies. The house has its living area on the upper floor and bedrooms on the lower floor. The Moorings is a fabulous small complex which shares the use of a large well maintained swimming pool surrounded by coconut palms, bougeanvillea and frangipani trees. We loved being able to walk from the house directly to the beach.
The holiday we had here was very much sea oriented. We ate and drank at e cafes on the beach (one of which has bar stools in the sea!) and explored the coast by water whichever way we could. We hired kayaks from the café and a motorboat from a local who took us out for the day to nearby islands where we could snorkel in fabulous clear water. We were also closer to Phuket city (overlooked by tourists) which we found fascinating and ate at some superb French /Thai fusion restaurants. The Moorings has a great deal to offer any sea lover and is very peaceful!

Lake View Villa is just 8km from the beaches and nightlife of Ambassador City and Jomtien, yet seems to have pulled the major attractions towards it. If you like swimming with dolphins, horse riding, shooting, bungy jumping, or elephant trekking everything is at your fingertips within 15 minutes or less. Pattaya Floating Market is nearby as is the Fishing Village where you can fish, but your villa has another surprise…fishing on the doorstep! Catch any edible fish (a 30-kilo catfish might be a bit too much!) from the well-stocked lake, whist sat on the covered raft on the lake and pop it straight on the portable charcoal barbeque for the freshest meal imaginable.
Location Some 18 kilometres south of Pattaya, 8k from the beach but only 4k from the temple at Huai Yai and the Dolphin Park, this villa is well suited for exploring the local attractions as well as relaxing within landscaped gardens of park proportions. Jim and Margaret, the owners, live discreetly in an adjacent property and are available as much or as little as you may require. If you need a taxi, a car with-driver for the day or for your entire holiday they will arrange it. Pizza night or a full pig or lamb roast feast can all be arranged onsite, and the Thai massage parlour is as far away as the drive is long: The masseurs prefer to do the walking of the drive for you and will attend to your aching limbs poolside or anywhere on the premises you may choose.
Accommodation
Bedrooms:
Three king sized bedrooms in air-conditioned comfort lead off the main living area all affording views of the landscaped gardens. They all have independently controlled TVs for watching satellite channels and the master bedroom suite features a settee and speaker system too. A fourth twin room is ideal for the children.
Bathroom:
There is a guest WC off the main living area, and of course, ensuite shower rooms in all the double bedrooms. For extra relaxation, the master suite boasts a two-person whirlpool bath. Outside, near the pool there is also a shower room, changing room, and WC, which is ideal when guests arrive for a dip in the pool and do not want to be a nuisance with dripping clothes in the villa.
Dining room :
Al fresco dining is the order of the day especially when entertaining. There is outside seating for eating for 22, around the main ornate wooden dining table, low-level cafe-style areas, or circular stone tables and chairs. Out here and still undercover is also a large snooker table and a high-level TV and DVD/USB player to keep the parties going with a swing.
Kitchen:
From the main living area you can enter the large fully fitted kitchen with all the European mod-cons including microwave, large grill-oven, fridge-freezer, long worktops and an island serving preparation workstation. There is a table, and chairs for six but the main eating area is in the cooling breeze outside under huge open-air roofing.
Living rooms:
Entering the villa through the front doors leads straight into the main living room area (the hub of the villa) with comfortable seating, and high ceilings. From here, you access the four bedrooms and another lounge room complete with air-conditioning, modern home cinema and surround sound, a comfortable leather suite, and a large low Thai coffee table.
